a phiLOVEdelphia story: Gettin' Spiffy

If the girls got lovely, then I suppose it was up to the guys to get spiffy.

As you all know, the men have it a whole lot easier. Even their schedules for the day were less detailed than those for the ladies.

Men's schedule - some details edited out
I realize there's a pretty strong possibility that all these schedules were thrown out and the guys just texted each other before arriving. However, everything went off without a hitch, so whatever!

All photos are by Philip Gabriel Photography.

Thanks to the Hive, we settled on attire for Mr. Turkey that was slightly different than his groomsmen, but not "too off" (people spoke strongly against the cummerbund).

First up, everyone had a formal point collar shirt.

Love the "action shots"
Next, Mr. Turkey had a bow tie, where the groomsmen wore their gifted ties. Brother Turkey had shared his gift for handling self-tie bow ties, so we put him to work.

I especially loved the snippet that made our trailer video - nice work, Brother Turkey
Everyone rocked a simple black vest.

Pensive Mr. Turkey (or maybe he's just looking out the window)
And the main ensemble was completed with the special cufflinks for both Mr. Turkey and Best Man M.

Brotherly love
You've seen an awful lot of Mr. Turkey...so, what were the groomsmen doing this whole time?

Working hard...

...or hardly working?
Before they knew it, an hour had passed and the time had come for the first look. A few final sips of beer last minute adjustments and it was out the door.

Jacket...check!
Perfectly lined up pocket square...check!
Final bow tie adjustment...check!

One quick note before I close...despite everyone renting their black tie (optional) attire from Jos A. Bank, I sent Mr. Turkey prepared on wedding day with extra pocket squares and black socks. Although he scoffed at this, I reminded him of an earlier wedding he was in where one groomsmen had to wear dirty socks from the rehearsal dinner because the group was a pair shy.

Let that be a lesson to you, future brides - if possible, be prepared with extras of the "little things" for your men. Mr. Turkey's luggage after the wedding was one pocket square and several pairs of socks lighter.

Sockless groomsmen would have been super awkward

What are your men wearing? Is the groom's outfit different in any way?
