a phiLOVEdelphia story: Just Dance

This is how Mr. Turkey and I remember our wedding:

All photos are by Philip Gabriel Photography.

Sure, there were other photos that showed us how we felt, but this is what it looked like. An absolutely PACKED dance floor…until the wee hours of the morning.

It had just switched over into May 13 at this point...do they look like they're slowing down?
There are 100s of photos of dancing in our gallery and we love each and every one. I love seeing these pictures from other weddings, so I’ll share some of our favorites with you, along with our observations.

Observation #1: Singing while dancing looks absolutely ridiculous.

Seriously, we all make really silly faces when breaking it down.

We’ve tried desperately to play “guess that song” with each picture, but can’t, for the life of us, figure it out. You’d think with all those images we should be able to piece it together!

Observation #2: The middle school “circle” still lives today.

Inevitably, there will be a person (or persons) in the middle of a group circle…and someone will chant their name. Or “go [name]”. Awesome.

Oh, and if you’re with Mr. Turkey’s family, they’ll be fake jump roping too (in a circle).

Observation #3: Sometimes the “adults” will surprise you .

We were totally impressed with the dance skills of our parents and “older” relatives. The dance floor knows no age.

No words. We LOVE this picture.
Observation #4: Having the band involved gets the energy up.

This could be alternatively titled “My friends love the microphone”. You already saw Jellyroll serenade our family, but they jumped in on the fun songs, too.

Again...still can't guess the song.

Observation #5: We had A LOT of fun!

You can see some of the damage to the sticker
In the end, despite our initial skepticism in the unique schedule for the evening, we think it actually contributed to the full dance floor (well, that, and Jellyroll).

People weren’t weighed down from a 3 course meal eaten all at once, dessert was mostly finger foods…oh, and it was delivered directly TO the dance floor. No need to leave to find cake.

Eat and dance
Do you love dancing photos as much as us? What observations have you made from looking at party pics?

In case you were wondering, based on the title...yes, we played that Lady Gaga song at the wedding (I told you the bridesmaids loved Gaga).
