A Perspective on Blogging (From the Other Half)

Before I officially  "close" the Turkey story (yup, we're just about there), the Mr. wanted to pop in and share his perspective on our journey. So, Hive, please welcome back Mr. Turkey!!

Hello - Mr. Turkey here! Over the past year while Mrs. Turkey has narrated our wedding odyssey, I have had the chance to watch and observe the process of going from an applicant, to an accepted blogger Bee; from Miss Turkey to finally Mrs. Turkey.

I always found it interesting that at every major milestone I would be able to sum up the highlights to my parents in under 60 seconds, however, that same milestone would somehow inspire two weeks worth of individual blogs, stories, reviews, and recommendations (with accompanying visuals of course).

I was forced to take pictures to support all these stories.
This one didn't make the cut when telling the story of our 1 month anniversary (is that a thing?)

As you all have already heard plenty from Mrs. Turkey, I figured I would share the best and worst of the "Bee experience" from my point of view:

Best thing:

For those of you who have gotten to know Mrs. Turkey during her narrative, I think it is safe to say that she always has to be doing something. There is no real downtime in Mrs. Turkey's life and she is always doing something productive. So, for me, the Bee experience has been fantastic in the sense that it has provided an almost endless creative outlet for Mrs. Turkey's energy and productivity.

This, in turn, has allowed me to divert my energies to some new activities. I am happy to say that I have been a much more productive Phillies and Eagles fan throughout the past year. I am not sure if any other Mr. Bees have had that same experience, but the diversion has been much appreciated!

GO PHILLIES!
Worst thing:

Now, this second item I am almost sure that every significant other of a blogger Bee has experienced.

When Mrs. Turkey first said that she was going to be documenting and sharing our wedding journey, I was a little skeptical. I wasn't really crazy about the idea of large numbers of people reading all about our experience (I am in general a pretty private person) and didn't realize that it would be a topic of interest. However, for the most part, I haven't found the Bee experience to be overly painful.

There is one exception, though. Once every few nights, while Mrs. Turkey is writing her stories, I will walk by her little work station and briefly catch a glimpse of a photo of me. This never fails to give me a brief sense of fear that I am doing something embarrassing in the photo (I have plenty of past experience with that). Usually they end up being pretty harmless, but the initial gut reaction was always there.

My view of Mrs. Turkey on many evenings - hope she's not uploading pictures of me
So, overall I found the Bee experience to great and am sure that one day it will be really nice to have our whole story documented in such a unique fashion.

However, in the meantime, if anyone has any good ideas for how I can channel Mrs. Turkey's energy for the next year, please share in the comments section. I'm afraid. Very afraid.

Ladies, how have your significant others reacted to your time on the Bee (boards, blog, etc.)?
