How to Remember Your Wedding

Clearly I'm being somewhat cheeky with my post title.

Obviously you'll remember your wedding and, even if moments go dark, there will be plenty of photos (and maybe even a video) to jog your memory.

One of our printed photos from our engagement session (thanks to Philip Gabriel Photography)
But I was thinking about things beyond just the "usual" - printed photos and wedding album. Different ways to display or use items from your wedding.

Now we didn't do a ton of DIY for our wedding, but there was a significant amount done for my fashionista bridal shower - from handmade napkins to decoupage. We don't have enough space now to have a significant pink and green presence on top of our home color scheme, but did want to use some of the items.

Pink & green monogram on display; jewelry holder (was the place card holder for the shower)

Both are in our closet for now, but hopefully we'll find a better spot down the line. The other items we're struggling to find a "home" for are shown below.

Logos from our respective colleges
These came as a surprise to us from Evantine at our reception (you'll see them in action when I do recaps). We love showing our pride, but attached to the back of our kitchen chairs isn't a long term solution!

Also along the "repurpose" train of thought came the idea to display some of our fun paper products from various events along the way. We already shared with you how we were displaying our beloved paper products:

In a Mr. & Mrs. frame
but we also have a couple others on display in our office.

Lastly, Mr. Turkey and I some things hanging on our walls to commemorate our wedding events. We're not fancy-schmancy people, but do like "real" art (especially if it has a meaning). We now have two paintings to remember our wedding.

The first is from MIL & SMIL Turkey. They gave us a beautiful painting of Boathouse Row to commemorate our rehearsal dinner.

Constant debate - is the picture hung too high?
The second was purchased the weekend after our return from Hawaii at the Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Show. Displayed over our kitchen table, the painting presents an alternate view of the Square where we did many of our wedding photos.

A close view - you can see the frog and the lion statues
Usual paintings of Rittenhouse feature the guardhouse, but we chose this view because it shows approximately where we stood for the first photos taken after we became Mr. & Mrs. It's also now extra special because it was our first "married" painting purchase!

Are you remembering your wedding in any unique ways? What items are you repurposing or displaying?
