I started my bridal shower recap by going through
tips with you all, but I'm going to back up (and take it up a level) to give you a full picture of the day.
The fashionista bridal shower all started with the invitation below (
made by Turkey Mom) and was clearly inspired the event's design.

When I entered Albany Country Club that Saturday, I was greeted by a new friend...
|
The dressmaker's dummy is actually wearing Turkey Mom's wedding veil! |
and then lots of pink and green...
and then family and friends, who came from all over the east coast (from up in Maine all the way down to DC)!
|
Mid-conversation...probably explaining who's who to the bridesmaids |
We took some required photos...

Mr. Turkey and his mom |
and then enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet (fresh fruit, waffles, made-to-order omlettes) with fancy beverages (bellinis, mimosas, bloody marys).
|
This table leaned toward the bloody mary |
Mom Turkey gave a touching speech (spoiler alert - I am so totally SCREWED when it comes to not crying at the wedding) and the games were introduced. The first involved 5 words that weren't allowed to be said during the shower - cute, marriage, Mr. Turkey (well, his real name), love and honeymoon. Currency was exchanged in Hershey kisses for anyone who used the words (spoiler alert - I lost all my kisses within about 2 minutes).
The next was "Guess the Fashionista" where each guest sent in a fashionable photo of themselves and you had to determine who was who.

Top L, clockwise: Turkey Mom (with Turkey Dad at their prom), Bridesmaid M, Cousin A, Bridesmaid D |
The last game was "Fashionista Through the Ages" and the objective was to guess my age in each of the photos.
|
For the record, I only got ONE right when I guessed |
We then watched a video created by Cousin L (more on this later)
|
This was the second viewing (I was cringing a bit with embarrassment during the first one) |
before digging into the most amazing dessert table EVER.
|

|
Yes, there were shoe shaped cookies in addition to the FABULOUS cupcake selection |
It was then time for gifts and, believe it or not, there were a few decent photos.
|
I am midway through saying "cute" (like I said, I had no kisses left) |
|
Showing off a pig cutting board from friend B |
As you other brides / bridesmaids know, gift unwrapping is no picnic. And maybe I'm biased, but I think I had the hardest working bridesmaids (and they were in some pretty high heels).
|
Seriously, the gifts were unwrapped, packaged with cards, on a cart and in the car before I knew what happened |
I cannot possibly thank these ladies and Turkey Mom for putting together such a wonderful event. They seemed to think of everything - from the theme to the food to the decor - that made it a perfect event for me. They nicely spaced the games, gave fun prizes and thought of every last detail (that will be the next post). I feel very lucky to have women that know me so well!
|
How beautiful are they? Bridesmaid B, Bridesmaid C, Turkey Mom, Bridesmaid M, Bridesmaid D, MOH J |
The shower was absolutely beautiful (in pink and green) and I felt so blessed that my family and friends took time out of their busy schedules to spend a few hours at the country club. It also made me
that much more excited for the wedding next month - they're such a fun group!

All the fashionable shower guests (everyone really "brought it" with the fancy) |
