After our engagement and weekend away, we were lucky enough to have a chance to celebrate with family. Chase's local aunts, uncles and cousins came together for a small party featuring food, cake and, of course, champagne!

At one point, this was our fridge. We're only 2 people!! |
It was very fun, after being by ourselves, to tell our story in person, show off the ring and celebrate. This was just the beginning of an amazing outpouring of generosity, love...and alcohol.
The week after our engagement, we found a big ol' box at our doorstep! Unfortunately, it was
not full of alcohol (because you can't ship it to PA).

What's all this?!?! |
Turns out the box was from my parents and there were some very fun wedding goodies inside. Shall we take a look at some of the gifts?

A wedding shoe bag...and something blue! |

One of a few monogrammed items for our (soon-to-be) shared last name |

Gotta get scrapbooking |
The next few weeks kept the USPS in business - we were so humbled by all the cards and gifts from friends and family. I think both their and Hallmark's stock probably went up.

A beautiful, handmade glass bowl from my friend in Germany |

Believe it or not, with all those cards, there were only 3 duplicates!
The card universe is HUGE. |
It was so wonderful to hear everyone's kind words and well wishes after this life-changing event for both of us. This got us SO excited to start planning our wedding (even Chase was ready to jump into the details)! It also created some additional DIY fun (I mean, c'mon, you can't throw out all those cards).
Did anyone else find themselves without a place to eat because of all the cards??
