What Would You Do...

...if you never met me?

I was in my car en route to work earlier this week when I heard a new song on the radio (when the talking heads finally took a break) that made me think. Called "Woman Like You", the song (country, of course) involves a conversation between a man and a woman, where she asks him what he would do if he never met her.

It's cute...go ahead, listen below.

Like I said, it made me think...specifically, what would be different if Mr. Turkey and I never met?

I actually asked Mr. Turkey this very question when I returned home that evening. Because we met at work and changing that trajectory required too much effort, we instead talked about what would be different if we never dated.

A photo of the Turkeys, pre-dating (we are working in a pool area - long story)
I believe that not too much would be different for me, from a career perspective, should Mr. Turkey and I not dated. Shortly after we met I began my MBA part-time, with the goal of working in marketing for a CPG company. This meant I was married (pun intended) to the Philadelphia area until completion, which was December 2010.

I was very excited to see my name on the prospective grad list - had to flash my V
However, after that, without Mr. Turkey, I may have extended my job search to some other cities (an offer would have been necessary to warrant a move), especially as many of my friends are in other locations.

Mr. Turkey also believed that he may have left Philadelphia to try something new within a couple years of when we met. Like me, many of his friends from college are in different cities. Boston, Chicago...who knows where he'd be by now! He didn't think his job would be much different, so for him the main change would be in scenery.

In other words, this view might not be in Mr. Turkey's view, which makes him a little sad

It all works out, though, as we both love Philadelphia and not living here is a bit hard to imagine at this point (although who knows what the future holds).

What about relationships? Funny...neither of us had any idea where we'd be now, especially since we weren't huge fans of the bar scene. Again, glad everything works out!

Enjoying a Phillies playoff game and, yes, we are wearing plastic bags
So, Bees, share your story...what would you or your significant other be doing if you hadn't met each other / weren't together?

Note: all the changes (or lack thereof) aside, it goes without saying that I wouldn't be nearly as happy in any of these scenarios as I am with Mr. Turkey [cue "awwwwww"].
