Although we were fans of mini foods well before they were identified as a "top trend", our introduction to tiny treats did come at a wedding!

Why are we so into mini food you ask?
The first reason, to be completely honest, is that it's cute!

I don't know if any of you are klutzy like me, but I always struggle at wedding cocktail hours to balance a drink and a plate...especially if it requires a fork of any type. I'm a MUCH bigger fan of eating with my hands (yes, I'm civilized like that) and will often forgo some of the knife and fork appetizers (like pasta or carving stations) in lieu of finger foods. This desire to avoid cutting while standing will be even more critical when wearing white.
See, two hands required to operate foods needing utensils (in this case, Rita's) |
Since several of the passed appetizers will be small in size, hopefully our guest won't be too full and they can test out the many options available - on trays or tables.
We're finalizing the menu for our tasting in the next couple weeks, so wondering if the Hive can help us out with the mix. Not all the food will be mini, but we're hoping for some to show up within both the appetizer and dessert categories!
As a guest, what mini foods would you like to see?
Mini comfort food (e.g. mac & cheese, grilled cheese)
Mini "fancy" appetizers (e.g. salads, salmon tarts)
Mini chocolatey desserts (s'mores, cookies)
Mini sweet desserts (ice cream cones, cupcakes)
All of the above!!
None of the above (hit the comments)
Anyone else a big fan of mini foods?
